Outreach

We are the light of the world . . . God’s hands & feet.

arrowDown2

We share God’s love and message of hope, both locally and globally, because God first loved us and gave us hope. We partner with ministries in the Charlotte area and in a few targeted countries to share Christ’s love, fight for justice, provide for needs, and respond to the things God puts on the heart of our community.

Merry Oaks International Academy

Merry Oaks International Academy is a local elementary school community with 99% of families that live below the poverty line. As a Title I school with students from diverse backgrounds, Merry Oaks is striving to provide an excellent level of education while also loving these kids well. That’s where CityChurch comes in! To show these students and families that they are valued & loved and to encourage them to have a passion for learning and character development. We show them how to love and believe in themselves through a Buddy Program, community events, field trips, and more fun!

Grocery Ministry

CityChurch Grocery Ministry

Teams of CityChurch volunteers pick up groceries from two local Fresh Market stores each Saturday on a rotation schedule (10 am team & 2 pm team). After sorting and organizing the groceries, they are prepared for distribution to 5 community organizations that serve the hungry in our city. The remaining items are brought back to CityChurch for our families to enjoy. It only takes 1.5 hours of your time on a Saturday of your choosing to make this huge impact in our community! If you’re interested in this volunteer opportunity, please email Joy Greenwald at joyrgreenwald333@gmail.com.

The Grocery Ministry is our weekly collection and distribution of unused food donations from local bakeries. We collect food that is still fresh but is beyond the retail sale date, repackage it, and distribute it to ministries and shelters around Charlotte. Any food that is left over is available after our Sunday services for anyone with a need.
