Outreach

We are the light of the world . . . God’s hands & feet.

We share God’s love and message of hope, both locally and globally, because God first loved us and gave us hope. We partner with ministries in the Charlotte area and in a few targeted countries to share Christ’s love, fight for justice, provide for needs, and respond to the things God puts on the heart of our community.

Merry Oaks International Academy

Merry Oaks International Academy is a local elementary school right in the heart of the refugee community here in Charlotte. As a Title I school with students from diverse backgrounds, Merry Oaks is striving to provide an excellent level of education to prepare them for future success. CityChurch is thrilled to come alongside this community to show students and staff members how valued they are by planning incentive field trips for students, putting on teacher appreciation parties, mentoring students, providing material support, and more!

Refugee Support Services

Refugee Support Services is a local refugee support organization that walks alongside refugee families in their new season of life in Charlotte, after their initial resettlement. They follow the motto, “Arrive. Survive. Thrive,” and so they focus on empowering families towards self-sufficiency and flourishing in the USA. CityChurch engages in programs with RSS to help develop these families as they adapt to Charlotte by putting on social events, educational field trips, self-sufficiency trainings, and more!

We invited leaders from both Merry Oaks School and Refugee Support Services to a Lunch ‘n Learn after a service to share about their organizations and ways we as a church and individuals could get involved. Listen to the recording if you’re interested!
