A New Kind of Obedience
As we look at the surprising conclusion to the book of Jonah, we explore how being obedient to God is not just about religiously doing what we are told…but rather also being renewed in character and becoming ever more Christ-like each day!
Our new series Being On Mission with God dives into the book of Jonah as we seek to follow the call from God to expand to two services. We’ll be looking at what it means to follow God’s call both individually and as a church while learning from Jonah’s story of finding courage in obedience.
Questions of Life (10/1-11/5/2017)
Each fall, we take a period of 40 days to focus on a study that we can use to build our faith. This year, we are examining some gritty questions of life to equip each of us to put a deeper trust in God and understand the riches of His ways spoken to us through the Bible.
The Bible is filled with encouragements to push beyond a safe spiritual journey and to challenge yourself to seek more and more spiritual maturity. In this series, we will look God’s call for us to move from a spiritual diet of milk to one of meat, savoring the goodness of growth.
Adventures in Acts (7/30-8/20/2017)
We are digging into the life of Paul, specifically looking at 4 profound adventures he walked through in his calling and how he managed to embrace the challenges he faced. And as we do, we’ll consider how we too can have Paul’s kind of grit and character in our own faith adventures.
Heroes of Genesis (7/2-7/23/2017)
We’re taking these next summer months to discover the power and richness of stories in the Bible, starting with Genesis. And as we do, we’ll learn how to apply the lessons of these stories in our stories to build our faith and go out to be a blessing to this world.
Authentic interactions with God are fundamental to a satisfying life of faith. But what does it look like to seek the presence of God on a daily basis? How can we grow our desire to encounter the Holy Spirit? And what can we expect from God’s promises in the Bible to never leave us?
The Lord Is…(4/23-5/14/2017)
In this series, we will look at the nature of God – to understand Him more and to enjoy who He is in our lives. And as we focus upward to the beauty and magnificence of God, we shall be encouraged to go deeper in our faith as a result and understand how to engage with a God who is so glorious.
In this Lent season, we’ll look at ways we can put into practice what is means to be followers of Jesus. Each Sunday will feature a “How To” topic that will help us deepen our understanding and commitment to being disciples as we live out our faith in our corners of the world.
Claiming Your Promised Land (2/19-2/26/2017)
What does it mean to personally claim your promised land? How do you take steps of faith into the plans God has for your life? In this two week series we will look at two characters in the Bible who model for us what it looks like to have great faith and ‘go’ into the adventure awaiting us!
Vision Sundays (2/5-2/12/2017)
We come together as a church this time each year to look ahead to the plans we believe God is guiding us to follow. In this 2-week series, we shall share what the vision CityChurch is laying hold of in the years to come and what your role could be to play your part!
The bible tells us that “God is love” and ‘God’s perfect love casts out all fear’. In this series, we kick off the year by looking at what it means to be made perfect in that love while asking the question what might our life look like if we lived without fear in 2017?
Peace, Joy & Miracles (11/27-12/24/2016)
As we journey together towards Christmas this year, we do so by exploring the promises of God that Jesus’ birth brings to us today. And as we discover the riches of these miraculous promises, we ask the question, ‘How can each of us experience more of these gifts from God for ourselves in this season?’
