Watch a Message from our Founding Pastor
In the Fall of 2020 and after 15 years, Al Hardy, the Founder and Lead Pastor of CityChurch Charlotte, announced his decision to move on from his role. We are asking God to help us find our next Lead Pastor.
We are looking for a servant leader who provides loving, approachable and non-condemning leadership; is a clear, dynamic and effective communicator of the Gospel; can teach on the ministry of the Holy Spirit; has a shepherd’s heart for the least and the lost; is comfortable empowering others; takes the mission seriously, but can have fun with a good sense of humor; and can fully embrace CityChurch’s vision, mission and values.

There are four stages in our search process for our next leader (see diagram). In mid-March we completed Stage 1 and we are currently in Stage 2, the Search Phase.

April Prayer Schedule
We will ‘gather’ once each week for Power Prayer. This is NOT a physical gathering and it is NOT a Zoom meeting. Just stop whatever you are doing and join us in spirit to pray for CityChurch at a particular time each week (see schedule). Pray for as long or short as you are able.
We will also hold two ‘in-person’ prayer events each month. Join us under the tent at CityChurch before our service, or on Zoom. We will send email reminders with all details nearer the time.
Weekly Power Prayer
Thurs. April 8 – 5:00-5:30pm
Wed. April 14th – 12:30-1:00pm
Tues. April 20th – 8:30-9:00am
Wed. April 28th – 8:30-9:00pm
In-Person Prayer Events
Sun. April 11th – 9.45-10:15am (under the tent at CityChurch)
Tues. April 27th – 7:00-8:00pm (Zoom)
Thanks for your continued prayers for CityChurch and the search process. Here are three specific ways you can be praying:
• As we enter into phase 2, the Search Phase, pray that God would open up all our relational networks and bring this opportunity to the attention of suitable candidates.
• Pray for continuing unity between our Congregation, our Staff, our Senior Leadership Team, and the Search Team during this transition period.
• Pray that God would use this transition to deepen our faith in Him and to continue to develop in us the habit of congregational prayer.
We are a friendly bunch who can’t wait to greet you with a warm welcome and assist you in any way we can.
