Most recent update for citychurch on June 3

Dear Church,

In an effort to do all we can to do our part to flatten the Coronavirus curve, we are canceling all in-person meetings of any kind for now. This includes LifeGroup gathers, the Discipleship group, Divorce care, etc. and, of course, our Sunday morning service. We want to continue to be a place of connection in a time of disconnection.

How can you stay connected?

Sundays at 10 am on Facebook live

How to create a Facebook account
If you don’t have a Facebook account, we do encourage you to create one following these steps:
1.    Go to facebook.
2.    Enter your name, email or mobile phone number, password, date of birth and gender.
3.    Click Sign Up.
4.    To finish creating your account, you need to confirm your email or mobile phone number.

Once you have created an account, you will want to follow the CityChurch Charlotte page. Simply search for CityChurch Charlotte and “like” the page.

If you do not want to create an account, you can still go to Facebook and search for our page, but you will not be able to comment and we would love for you to join the conversation! Also if you have a smart TV, you might consider downloading the Facebook app for maximum streaming quality.

CityChurch Watch Groups

As we head into June, we want to encourage as many people as possible to start gathering at homes in small ‘Watch Groups’ to enjoy the service together via Facebook Live, and then perhaps share lunch together. We hope these Watch Groups will be a real blessing to those interested. We are looking for hosts!

  • If you are interested in hosting please click here.
  • If you are interested in joining a Watch Group, click here.
  • More details about Watch Groups and FAQs for Hosting & Social Distancing are available HERE.

Ollie and friends share a story about a special breakfast on the beach. After Easter, Jesus came out of the tomb alive and met his friends on a beach. They were so excited to see him. He cooked them breakfast because he loved them so much. Jesus is alive! He loves you so much, too, and wants to be your friend forever!

Jesus’ life changed how we do things. Even though He was equal with God, He acted like a servant and put others first. If someone as important as Jesus can be humble, we can be, too. How can you be like Jesus and put others before yourself?

There are additional resource links underneath these videos if your family would like apply the lessons with some additional activities.

Weekly Zoom Prayer MeetingLynn Craig has started a weekly prayer meeting at 6:30pm on Thursdays by Zoom. Everyone from the church is welcome. This online prayer meeting will meet through May 15. To join, use this link: https://us04web.zoom.us/j/509164737

How can we help you?

We have also created three new care teams to help us stay connected.
Care Team: A member of this team will be phoning every CityChurch family once every two weeks to check in and see if there are any needs. If you have specific needs please email care@citychurchcharlotte.com
HELP Squad: a group of 20s and 30s standing by to run errands for those most at risk and in need.
Prayer Team Hotline – 704-313-8431. If you need prayer, text or call this line with your name and a call back number and someone from the Prayer Ministry team will call you back and pray with you.

How can you help others?

We have established a food fund through CityChurch to help those in need during this difficult time. You can donate here.
This food fund will be supporting:
  • Folks in our own church community who are in need.
  • Those struggling in the neighborhoods we support (Merry Oaks, Neighborhood Hope & Refugees Support Services).
  • Join the help squad today to help these communities.
We know that people are losing jobs and as the weeks go by the needs are only going to get greater.  We want to do all we can to stand with our community right now and share the hope we have in Jesus.

Every dollar given will go to these communities and we will continue to give updates as the weeks unfold of what we collectively have been able to do. With thanks in advance for your generosity and concern for others in the midst of this crazy time.

If you are willing and able, you can donate here.
