Message: “I Have Called You Friend” from Matthew Hemsley

A message from the series “Glimpses of Glory.” The Vine and the Branches is one of the best known texts in the New Testament. Jesus urges us all to ‘Remain in me, as I also remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine.’ But we don’t often focus on what Jesus says a bit later, ‘I no longer call you servants…I have called you friends!’ It’s a remarkable statement, a glimpse of the glory we have been called into. But what exactly does it mean to be called a friend of Jesus?
