What Derails Us From Experiencing God?
This week we are talking about a powerful force the enemy uses to derail us from experiencing God. Often this force takes root in our lives in very subtle ways. While it presents a very serious problem for us, we can be assured that God remains at work and, in Jesus, he gives us what we need to overcome it!”
Sooner or later in our faith walk we do need to ask the question how do you Experience God? What are the steps to do so? And what are the blocks too? Al and our new Associate Pastor Ryan Ramsey help us walk through those questions and help us in understanding such over the next few weeks.
As we celebrate the Christmas season and the birth of Jesus we look at how his story becomes our journey. We discuss the topics of hope, faith, love, and other topics that His birth calls us too in the Advent season.
In this series, we will look at the nature of God – to understand Him more and to enjoy who He is in our lives. And as we focus upward to the beauty and magnificence of God, we shall be encouraged to go deeper in our faith as a result and understand how to engage with a God who is so glorious.
Over this years 40 Days of Faith we will begin looking into “investing” in our faith in many ways across the life of the Church. We hope you will intentionally take time to do so with us! In our sermon series Al will discuss how to overcome the things we struggle with as Christians.
Over the next few weeks we ask just exactly how do we follow Jesus? What are the requirements if any? And how do we prepare to do so? Do we have to give anything up? Do we have to change? What are the costs? The answers may surprise and challenge you!
On this Kick Off/ Vision Sunday, we look forward to the Fall and consider what Jesus instruction to ‘Get up! Pick up your mat and walk’ means for us today and especially for the months ahead. Al asks the question are you “really” ready to get up and walk and challenges us to do just that!
As our Mission team returns from India Al reflects not just on the massive impact of being able to hear God’s voice but also on exactly how we can do that for our lives today. He details a practical guide to doing so and the main thing of taking the time to listen.
Over the next few weeks Al and others are going to take us through some notable Parables throughout the new testament! As we dig deeper into the meat of the words of Jesus we will find that All the Parables pack a punch and offer specific wisdom for many situations of life.
As our busy Summer begins we invite you to take a look at “Relational Evangelism”. Our hope is that through the series you will not only get practical knowledge of how to move forward in evangelism but also increase your heart for those that have not been reached as well. Oh yeah and bring a friend!
God promises to be with us in many ways. Over the next few weeks Al will lead us into 3 of them: through His voice, His presence, and His Spirit. Follow along with us through the Gospel of John for what is sure to be both a practical and supernatural experience of God with us!
Do you know that your story matters? It does. Looking at Psalm 139, we will consider how our stories our sacred because they are written in God’s book. Ultimately we will see that our stories matter because as we recognize our stories, we see ourselves, we see others, and we see our God.
Over the next few weeks we will be looking into where our ‘Treasure’ really is and how to take hold of it looking at the parable of the rich fool from Luke 12 and how to focus on living rather than having. We will also take a look at vision using an example from Philippians and how we as a Church can join.
